Sharing Christ on earth today in order to enlarge heaven tomorrow!

We are imperfect people boldly sharing the world's perfect Savior, Christ Jesus, every day.  When people think of a church, they often think of a place or a building.  When you visit St. Mark, we pray that you will think of people.  Join us each week and experience community through people who are loved, forgiven, and redeemed by Jesus.

Who We Are

We are affiliated with The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod, the largest conservative Lutheran church body in the United States.  We value Christ-centered worship, biblical Lutheran doctrine, Gospel-oriented ministry, Christian marriage and family, and want to tell our community about it!

Our Mission is . . .

to share God’s Word of grace and truth with everyone who needs hope.

Our Vision is . . .

to be unified in the mission that God has given us, equipping disciples, and actively reaching all generations in our community with the good news of God’s love in Jesus Christ.

Our Core Values are . . .

The grace and truth of God’s Word.

Encouraging future generations in the faith.

The beauty and blessing of the gifts of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

Continuing growth in the knowledge of God in the Scriptures.

Sharing the love of God with one another through fellowship.

Sharing the Gospel with the community.

SHARED IDENTITY

Our identity is derived from Jesus, the crucified and risen Lord of all.  He is our foundation, our salvation, and our source of identity.  We live because He lives.  We are chosen and priceless because Jesus has made us His own.

SHARED PURPOSE

Jesus works life and salvation in the world through our acts of love, proclamation of the Gospel and even our sufferings.  We are together one holy priesthood, one in purpose because we are built on Christ, the Living Stone.

OUR ROLE

  1. Proclaim the excellencies of God
  2. Hope in Jesus (even through suffering)
  3. Patiently await God's goodness
  4. Love others
  5. Pray, pray, and pray some more

CHRIST ALONE

it is not our effort, the perfection of our offering or even the sincerity of faith that makes our spiritual offerings pleasing to God.  It is that they are offered through Jesus Christ.  By His grace and power alone, He works life and salvation in us and through us.

Grace Alone

We confess that we are saved by grace alone---God's undeserved favor shown to sinners for the sake of Christ Jesus.  Our salvation is not earned by works, feelings, or decisions, but is completely the gift of God who sent His Son to bear our sin and win our redemption on the cross.  By grace alone, God creates and sustains faith, so that all glory belongs to Him.

Faith Alone

We confess that we are justified by faith alone---not by works.  Faith is not a human achievement but the gift of God, created by the Holy Spirit through the Gospel.  In Christ's perfect life, atoning death, and victorious resurrection, God declares sinners righteous solely on account of Jesus.  Good works follow faith as its necessary fruit, but they contribute nothing to our salvation.

Scripture Alone

We confess that Scripture alone is the the pure, certain, and sufficient source and norm of all Christian doctrine and life.  The Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God, through which the Holy Spirit reveals Christ and delivers the saving Gospel.  All teachings of the Church must be drawn from and judged by Scripture, for it alone is God's authoritative voice for His people.
